She prefers to work on location where she can feel the spirit of her surroundings.
Her paintings have been diplayed at the Tom Tompson Gallery, Owen Sound, Ontario Enviromental Energy Conference, Toronto, Spring Rush, Etobicoke. Kathleen's work is an extension of her enviroment, reflecting her conection with nature and all of its inspiring beauty.

The Practice of Art - the Art of Practice
Learning to paint is a demanding process and persistent practice is a key element in that process.
The Barrie Art Club is pleased to offer the opportunity for aspiring artists to develop their skills in a series of weekly sessions commencing Wednesday October 8th 2008
This 10 week program, held each Wednesday evening from 7.00-9.00pm at the Barrie Art Club gallery, will emulate methods employed in classical art training.
Artists will have the opportunity to practice making black and white copies of selected paintings. This exercise allows students to focus their full attention on the distribution and modulation of values, which helps them get a full understanding of tonal composition.
A selection of sculptures will also be available. The goal of learning to paint a sculpture, reducing a complex three-dimensional object onto a two-dimensional surface while re-creating the illusion of depth and volume, helps to distil and master essential principles.
This series is available free of charge to members of the Barrie Art Club and at a cost of $5.00 per session for non-members.
The Barrie Art Club provides a friendly, supportive and non-judgemental environment for artists from beginner to advanced. The single aim of this series is to provide an opportunity to practice our art.
This program has been made possible in part by a grant from Trillium.
