Sheila Bristow

In 1950 I took a few oil painting lessons which I paid for by sitting for the art classes. Shortly after that I married and stopped all art until I had raised a family and retired from working; always knowing during this time that eventually I would return to painting.

Having an admiration for well done portraits and pictures of nature it seems that everyday I see some flower or landscape that needs to be painted immediately. Colour is important to me and I find a real outlet for my artistic desires in painting colorful areas of the countries I have traveled to. I also enjoy doing portraits of people I know, whom have had an influence on my life.

I am new to the art scene and feel grateful for the reception my art has received. I feel the need to paint and only wish I had more time to paint all the pictures that are in my head waiting to be painted.
