Wendy Russell

Wendy Russell was born and educated in Toronto, Ontario. After spending seven years in Alberta, she moved with her husband and three children to Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. After 12 years in Nova Scotia, she relocated in July 2007 to Barrie, Ontario.

Primarily a self taught artist, working in acrylics and water colour, Wendy Russell enjoys the process of drawing and spending time developing the composition of each work. She paints the natural world, landscapes,seascapes and stylized florals.

She has been influenced by the works of Canadian artist, Lawren Harris (1885-1970), for his bold and vigorous depiction of the Canadain landscape. She is also influenced by American artist, Georgia O'Keeffe (1887-1986).

Wendy Russell's works are in corporate and private collections across Canada and the United States. Wendy also volunteered as the coordinator at the Cole Harbour Library, N.S.
